R+R® Reprocess and Repurpose is an upcycle collection program for plastic, paper free coffee packaging across the coffee supply chain. It makes sustainability easy and efficient for our partners and their customers across the coffee supply chain.
R+R® offers two boxes to collect used plastic, paper free packaging material. The larger for plastic, paper free coffee packaging with valve and Hermética® plastic barrier bulk bags for green coffee. The smaller box is used to collect tin ties. Once the boxes are at capacity, partners contact us and we provide shipping labels to send boxes to Arqlite® in Santa Ana, California, where they convert the material collected into their patented Smart Gravel™that is used to improve draining for landscape projects or as aggregate for concrete precasts. For tin ties, we team up with Bedford Industries in Worthington, Minnesota and use our R+R® box to collect tin ties and support their TagBack® program (www.tagback.com).
Together, we can spread the word and bring sustainability further up the coffee supply chain and have a real impact on consumer behavior by encouraging conscientious packaging disposal. Our hope is for the entire coffee supply chain to join us and work together to strive towards net zero.
